Job summary

Historic Charleston Foundation is seeking a Manager of Annual Philanthropy and Donor Engagement to grow annual fundraising, cultivate donors, and expand the 1947 Society and National Advisory Council. You will work closely with the Chief Philanthropy Officer and lead events and communications to deepen donor relationships.

The role focuses on increasing unrestricted and restricted giving, planning campaigns, and coordinating with senior leadership and the Board to meet annual fundraising goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Three to five years of experience in annual giving, fundraising, donor relations, sales, business development, or related nonprofit administration.
• Knowledge of preferred fundraising principles and stewardship practices.
• Familiarity with CRM systems such as Altru or similar donor databases.
• Knowledge of the Charleston community and philanthropic landscape preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute HCF's annual giving strategy and fundraising calendar to increase donor participation, retention, and overall philanthropic support.
• Establish strategies to convert event attendees and supporters into long-term annual donors and assist with National Advisory Council gatherings.
• Collaborate with Philanthropy and Communications to develop annual giving appeals and donor communications.
• Support donor cultivation and stewardship events and develop engagement opportunities for donors.
• Participate in community and donor engagement activities and track fundraising performance with the CPO.
