Job summary

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO) seeks a Director of Analytics and Insights to lead the BI function, define KPI definitions, and translate business needs into actionable BI work across departments. This role partners with leadership to monitor organization-wide performance and drive data-driven decision-making.

The position may grow to lead a small analytics team as the function matures, with responsibilities spanning data governance, dashboard delivery, and proactive insight generation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in analytics or related field; equivalent professional experience may substitute.
• 10+ years of progressive BI/analytics experience with increasing scope and responsibility.
• Experience leading stakeholder engagements—gathering requirements and translating to technical specs.
• Defining and stewarding KPIs across multiple business functions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary BI liaison to business departments and leadership.
• Own KPI definitions, metrics registry, and data quality governance.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements for Data Engineer and BI team.
• Maintain and enhance dashboards, reports, and segmentation logic.
• Mentor analysts and help grow the BI function.
