DHL Global Forwarding in Rochester, NY is seeking an Airfreight Operations Specialist to manage the movement of air export shipments from initial customer contact to final destination.

You will coordinate bookings with airlines, prepare export/import documentation, and liaise with customers, warehouses, and carriers to ensure on-time cargo movement. Strong customer service and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Logistics / Freight forwarding industry experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Cargo Wise systems knowledge is a plus.
• Coordinate and prepare export/import documentation in compliance with country requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and ensure timely bookings with airlines on behalf of the customer.
• Prepare export and import documentation per country requirements.
• Prepare documents such as Certificate of Origin, Cargo Manifest, AWB, and other customer documents.
• Audit charges for accuracy and verify payment responsibility.
• Ensure timely movement of cargo by coordinating with customer, warehouse, airlines, gateway operations and dispatch.
• Maintain ongoing communication with customers and overseas offices regarding shipment status.
