Job summary

Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust is seeking an Advancement Director to lead fundraising, membership engagement, and communications strategy. You will manage major-gift portfolios, plan campaigns, and align development with the organization’s Strategic Framework.

You will supervise a development team and partner with the Executive Director and Board, driving capacity, equity-minded leadership, and strong donor relations across campaigns and programs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of nonprofit development experience with supervisory roles.
• Proven success in major gifts, donor stewardship, and fundraising goals.
• Experience planning capital or comprehensive campaigns from planning to execution.
• Experience creating social media campaigns for fundraising outcomes.
• Strong coaching, delegation, and staff development abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable with donors, board and public.
• Familiarity with donor CRM systems; knowledge of membership and communications systems is a plus.
• Genuine commitment to Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Direct the organization's fundraising strategy, integrating annual giving, events, and grants.
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major and principal gift donors.
• Lead campaigns in partnership with the Executive Director and Board of Trustees.
• Translate strategic priorities into fundable initiatives and multi-year revenue plans.
• Set and monitor fundraising and membership goals; adjust strategies as needed.
• Oversee database management, gift processing, plus donor cultivation and events.
• Guide Planned Giving strategy in coordination with leadership.
• Set strategic direction for membership growth and community partnerships.
• Oversee communications planning to align development and program messaging.
• Lead staff supervision of Development Manager, Membership/Engagement Coordinator, and Communications Director.
• Foster an integrated, equity-minded workplace culture and staff development.
• Develop annual departmental work plans and allocate resources.
