Job summary

Glen Oaks Community College in Michigan is seeking a Recruitment & Outreach Specialist to attract prospective students by visiting high schools, attending college fairs, and building relationships with local communities. You will help students through admissions, coordinate campus tours, and support enrollment efforts under the Director of Admissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.
• Two years of experience in college admissions, sales, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
• Availability to travel and work some evenings and weekends as required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher).
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing (including text and email).
• Effective presentation skills for both small and large audiences of diverse populations.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Valid drivers license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with high school counselors, educators, community organizations, employers, and other partners.
• Create and conduct presentations for students, parents, educators, and community groups.
• Identify new outreach opportunities and cultivate partnerships to increase college awareness.
• Promote dual enrollment, workforce development, and continuing education opportunities.
• Travel extensively within the service area to support recruitment initiatives.
• Guide prospective students through admissions and enrollment processes.
• Provide accurate information regarding admission requirements, programs, financial aid, and registration.
• Maintain ongoing communication with prospective students to encourage enrollment.
