Job summary

The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Medicine is seeking an Administrative Manager to lead the Department of Neurology. The role oversees financial, procurement, and HR functions, develops unit plans, and ensures compliance with university, state, and federal policies.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and five years of related experience in HR/business/finance, with two years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, finance, accounting, human resources, or related field.
  • Experience: Five (5) years of related experience in human resources and business, budget, or financial operations.
  • Supervisory Experience: Two (2) years of direct management responsibilities that involve personnel recruitment, training, and professional development.
  • Other: Year-for-year substitution with 30 undergraduate college credits equivalent to one year.

Responsibilities

  • Manage financial (FIN), procurement (SSA), and human resource (HR) functions for an administrative office or department, formulating unit plans, policies, and procedures, setting goals and objectives, enforcing rules and regulations.
  • Formulate and coordinate policies and standard operating procedures for the unit to ensure compliant, effective, and efficient operations.
  • Partners with senior management in formulating unit strategic plans, assessing resources, and initiatives in alignment with the University plan.
  • Manage payroll processing, HR transactions, purchase orders and financial budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
  • Provide training and advisement, monitor and evaluate ongoing programs and controls.

Education

Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, finance, accounting, human resources, or other related field
