Job summary

The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Medicine seeks a Research Administrator to join the Department of Neurology. The role focuses on managing pre- and post-award activities, contracts and grants, and ensuring compliance with sponsor guidelines while supporting strategic research goals.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred.
• Six (6) years of progressively building research administrative background with at least 4 years in full life-cycle research administration.
• One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Certified Research Administrator (CRA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
• Financial disclosure reporting required by Maryland Ethics Commission.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert direction for unit and/or team of research administration staff, balancing pre- and post-award activities.
• Manage preparation and review of grant and contract budgets and applications; finalize documents for submission.
• Ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines, regulations, and university policies; support strategic research planning.
