Job summary

Summit Management Consulting, LLC is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day AP and purchasing for multiple schools. You will process invoices, vendor documentation, POs, and payments, while ensuring compliance with procedures and providing strong customer service to staff and vendors.

This role reports to the CFO and is based at 4864 Lapeer Rd., Kimball, MI 48074. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in accounting, a strong knowledge of Excel, and proficiency with SMART

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three years accounting experience.
• Proficiency in SMART systems preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Attention to detail and discretion in handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Monitor AP emails, organize invoices, and process approved invoices through the finance system for all schools.
• Process recurring invoices, including EduStaff, WillSub, utilities, and purchase cards.
• Perform scheduled check runs and process EFT payments for utilities and vendors.
• Monitor payments for unorthodox, unallowable, or inconsistent purchases and practices.
• Track vendor contracts and expiration dates, and notify CFO of expiring contracts.
• Provide all necessary reports to school administration and auditors.
• Reconcile third-party sub-provider data on a regular basis.
• Produce AP/AR related journal entries as needed.
