Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking an Accounting Transformation Manager to drive the strategic optimization of Accounts Payable and Credit & Collections. You will partner with AP/CC teams to modernize processes, strengthen controls, and deliver measurable efficiency gains across procure-to-pay and order-to-cash cycles.

The role requires 10+ years of accounting/finance transformation experience, CPA preferred, and a track record of leading cross-functional initiatives in complex operations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance transformation, or financial systems.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable operations, credit & collections, and internal controls.
• CPA preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, information technology or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional process transformation initiatives across AP and Credit & Collections, implementing automated, standardized workflows to increase efficiency.
• Provide leadership and performance management to AP and Credit & Collections, aligning goals with Finance objectives.
• Oversee end-to-end AP controls: invoice processing, check runs, ACH, wire transfers for accuracy and policy adherence.
• Oversee collections strategy, credit risk assessment, and delinquency/dispute management to optimize cash flow.
• Design and enforce AP and Credit & Collections policies to strengthen internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance (IRS 1099, FDCPA).
• Develop and monitor KPIs and benchmarking tools across both functions to drive continuous improvement.
• Apply Lean/Six Sigma to reengineer workflows and eliminate non-value-added activity.
• Lead audits and support internal/external audits related to AP and Credit & Collections.
