Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking an Accounting Transformation Manager to lead strategic modernization of Accounts Payable and Credit & Collections. You will partner with finance teams to implement automated workflows, strengthen internal controls, and drive cost-efficient process improvements across the procure-to-pay and order-to-cash cycles.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in accounting or finance transformation, strong data analytics skills with Power BI/Tableau, and CPA is a plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in accounting, finance transformation, or financial systems.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable operations, credit and collections, and internal controls.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in operationally driven organizations.
• CPA preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, information technology or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional process transformation initiatives across Accounts Payable and Credit & Collections, identifying bottlenecks and implementing automated, standardized workflows to increase efficiency.
• Provide leadership, direction, and performance management to the Accounts Payable and Credit & Collections function, ensuring goals align with Finance and organizational objectives
• Oversee end-to-end accounts payable controls, including invoice processing, check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance
• Oversee collections strategy, credit risk assessment, and delinquency/dispute management to optimize cash flow and reduce bad debt
• Design, implement, and enforce accounting policies for AP and Credit & Collections strengthening internal controls and regulatory compliance
• Develop and monitor KPIs and benchmarking tools across both functions to drive continuous improvement
• Apply Lean Management and Six Sigma to reengineer workflows and remove non-value-added activities
• Serve as escalation point for vendor disputes, customer credit disputes, and third-party collection matters
• Collaborate with Finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting with data-driven insights
• Lead audit readiness and support internal and external audits related to AP and Credit & Collections
