Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking an Accounting Transformation Manager to lead strategic optimization of Accounts Payable and Credit & Collections. This role partners with Finance to modernize processes and strengthen internal controls, driving efficiency across procure-to-pay and order-to-cash cycles.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in accounting or finance transformation with a lean mindset and CPA is preferred. Strong data analytics and change management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance transformation, or financial systems.
• CPA preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, information technology or equivalent.
• Knowledge of internal controls and procure-to-pay / order-to-cash processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional process transformation initiatives across Accounts Payable and Credit & Collections, identifying bottlenecks and implementing automated, standardized workflows to increase efficiency.
• Provide leadership, direction, and performance management to the Accounts Payable and Credit & Collections function, ensuring goals align with Finance and organizational objectives.
• Oversee end-to-end accounts payable controls, including invoice processing, check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers, ensuring accuracy and policy adherence.
• Oversee collections strategy, credit risk assessment, and delinquency/dispute management to optimize cash flow and minimize bad debt while maintaining customer relationships.
• Design and enforce policies for AP and Credit & Collections to strengthen internal controls and regulatory compliance (IRS Form 1099 reporting, FDCPA).
• Develop and monitor KPIs and benchmarking tools across both functions to drive continuous improvement.
