Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Team Lead to supervise daily accounting activities, ensure GAAP compliance, and oversee general ledger, AP/AR, and month-end close. The role ensures accuracy of financial data and supports internal controls and policies.

Responsibilities include managing journal entries, reconciliations, and close processes while coordinating with business teams to resolve issues and improve processes. Strong Excel and ERP experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Previous supervisory or team-led experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Workday, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
• Workday experience preferred.
• Experience with BlackLine reconciliation software preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and support the accounting team.
• Prepare, review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and transactions.
• Review AP transactions and accruals for correct coding.
• Review data for excise tax filings in applicable jurisdictions.
• Oversee rent-related AP/AR, CAM, and related expenses.
