Job summary

The University of Richmond seeks an Accounting Manager to oversee the Accounting Office's day-to-day operations and endowment/investment accounting. You will serve as a resource for campus accounting matters, manage tax filings (990/990T/4720), and support the annual audit of the university's consolidated financial statements.

Responsibilities include supervising accounting staff, coordinating with external tax accountants, preparing quarterly and annual financial statements under FASB ASC 820,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 5-7 years' experience in higher education, public accounting, or not-for-profit accounting.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Accounting Office.
• Manage investments, endowment accounting, and related reports.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax preparations (990/990T/4720).
• Lead annual 990 filings with external tax accountants.
• Mentor Accounting staff and develop department processes.
• Assist with process modernization and improvements.
