Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting department, oversee daily operations, and ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance. In this role you will manage accounting personnel, provide financial analysis to leadership, and maintain strong internal controls across payroll, GL, and cost accounting systems.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; five years of related experience or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting team, including AP, AR, and senior personnel.
• Develop and coach the accounting team through training and performance guidance.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Oversee monthly and year-end financial reporting.
• Maintain and update cost accounting system.
• Prepare monthly pricing information and communicate updates to Sales.
