Job Description
The Strategic Account Manager is the principal representative of RRD responsible for understanding and representing the products, services, and solutions it provides to clients. A Strategic Account Manager maintains relationships and promotes sales through a consultative process with clients. The position requires product knowledge, industry trend awareness, and the ability to develop strategic plans to maximize sales and revenue from existing and new clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and grow customer accounts, optimizing revenue opportunities: 75%
- Act as a trusted business partner, building meaningful value-add relationships.
- Build successful relationships with senior-level clients and decision-makers.
- Ensure flawless implementation of programs.
- Serve as the point of contact for problem-solving.
- Develop and cultivate new business opportunities.
- Develop strategic advertising ideas and programs.
- Participate in account strategy sessions.
- Client interaction includes:
- Engaging with decision-makers.
- Leading with client solutions, understanding their end goals, and providing integrated product solutions.
- Using data, research, and insights to grow revenue opportunities.
- Understanding how customers' marketing, advertising, and sales dollars are spent, including securing orders and creating cross-selling and up-selling opportunities.
- Selling product mix (integrated solutions) to ensure successful campaigns.
- Engaging internal sales and support teams to sell omni-channel solutions.
- Research, tailor, and teach commercial insights to clients:
- Understanding customer marketing and advertising requirements.
- Creating demand for RRD products, services, and solutions.
- Negotiating contracts and engaging internal resources as needed.
- Exceed revenue goals and proactively drive revenue: 10%
- Create compelling stories and visions for customers, challenging their marketing strategies.
- Propose omni-channel solutions aligned with client goals.
- Engage internal experts to provide product expertise as needed.
- Acquire and close accounts with varying complexity levels.
- Provide accurate and timely reports and forecasts as required: 15%
Qualifications
Education & Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Experience / Skills and Competencies:
- 5+ years of successful outside sales and/or account management experience.
- Experience in developing and maintaining client relationships; media experience preferred.
- Proficiency in data-driven solution selling.
- Strong problem-solving, judgment, and independent decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and seek growth opportunities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
Communication & Contacts (Internal/External):
- Interaction with clients and internal teams at all levels.
Decision-Making Scope:
- Ability to provide innovative recommendations supporting sales strategies.
- Handle complex factors requiring broad judgment.
Other:
- Travel required. Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Information
This role offers a salary plus incentive program. The current salary range is $50,000 to $150,000 annually, adjustable based on location and other factors.
