Job summary

Texas Southern University is seeking an Academic Advisor in the Office of Student Services to guide students from admission through graduation and advise on major selection and course planning.

You will collaborate with the Registrar and campus offices on graduation, registration, and related processes, and coordinate program interviews and transcript evaluations as part of a strong student-services team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• More than three years of related experience in higher education academic advising.
• Experience with advising software or systems.

Responsibilities

• Advises and assist students with selection of major and classes.
• Works with the Office of Student Services, TSU Registrar, and other campus offices on related matters such as graduation applications, registration, commencement, etc.
• Coordinates interviews for program candidates.
• Transcripts evaluations of incoming students.
• Attends and participates in college/university recruiting events.
• Attends and participates in college/university student, outreach and special events and ceremonies.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
