Job summary

Blue Cross NC seeks a Consulting Actuary - ACA Risk Adjustment to lead pricing strategies and actuarial initiatives for our health plans. You’ll evaluate advanced care models, conduct benchmarking, and price sophisticated insurance products while providing actionable insights.

You’ll collaborate with internal partners, manage vendor relationships, and meet continuing education standards. Requires ASA or FSA with 7–9 years of actuarial experience and AA membership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
• Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
• 7 years of relevant actuarial experience, or ASA with 9+ years.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for complex actuarial or analytical projects; ensure timeliness, compliance, and quality.
• Provide proactive thought leadership to improve processes, reduce risks, and drive profitable growth.
• Achieve segment financial targets and explain results and variances clearly.
• Communicate effectively with all levels, including Divisional Leadership.
• Manage external partnerships with vendors, auditors, regulators, and providers.
• Develop strong business relationships and act as a strategic advisor.
• Meet continuing education standards for actuarial credentials.
