Job summary

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. in the United States seeks a Stowage Planner to design safe, seaworthy stowage plans for container vessels, optimize capacity, and ensure compliance with safety and dangerous goods rules.

You will collaborate with Marine, Terminal Operations, Network, Deployment, and regional teams, maintaining up-to-date records and contributing to SOPs. Fresh graduates or candidates with 1–3 years in related roles are welcome; English proficiency required.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's degree (any discipline)
Experience in Stowage Planning, Terminal Planning, Seafaring, or Marine Operations is an advantage
Fresh graduates or candidates with 1–3 years of non-maritime work experience are welcome
Familiarity with stowage planning systems and tools is a plus
Good command of written and spoken English

Responsibilities

Design safe, seaworthy stowage plans for container vessels
Advocate and execute round-trip stowage planning across regions
Ensure compliance with safety, stability, and dangerous goods segregation requirements
Optimize vessel utilization to maximize intake and minimize costs
Drive planning objectives including Trim Optimization, Crane Split, Shiftings, Master Planning, and Slot Utilization
Follow up with terminals and vessel command for smooth execution
Identify and address operational risks affecting vessel operations
Collaborate with Marine, Terminal Operations, Network, Deployment, and Regional teams
Maintain accurate system updates, records, and documentation
Contribute to establishment, review, and improvement of Global Planning SOPs
