Job summary

City of Clermont is seeking a maintenance technician to perform stormwater system upkeep, repairs, and related public works tasks. The role requires operation of vehicles and heavy equipment, adherence to safety protocols, and accurate record-keeping.

Two years of related experience and a valid Florida driver's license are preferred. The position may involve on-call duties during emergencies and is located on-site in Clermont, FL with standard city benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years related stormwater or construction experience.
• Certifications: Stormwater Inspector, Stormwater Operator 1 & 2, and Traffic Control & Safety in Work Zone within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair stormwater structures such as drains, basins, and retention ponds.
• Perform preventive maintenance, process work orders, and complete daily reports.
• Inspect outfalls and drains for illicit discharges and report findings.
• Inspect businesses for compliance with illicit discharge regulations.
• Operate heavy equipment and assist with street sweeping and niche tasks.
• Transport materials and assist with deliveries and errands.
• Follow safety practices and maintain records and reports.
