City of Clermont is seeking a dedicated maintenance worker for sidewalk, street, and utility support. The role involves performing maintenance, repair, and construction tasks across public works projects and may require operating heavy equipment and power tools.
Occasional clerical tasks, on-call rotation after probation, and adherence to safety protocols are part of the responsibilities. A High School Diploma or GED and a valid Florida driver’s license are required.
This position performs work in maintaining and repairing sidewalks, tree trimming, street repairs, concrete work and other public services projects. Works in the repair and construction of underground utilities, appurtenances and utility projects. This position works under general supervision according to procedures/processes. In some cases, the worker may determine how to complete tasks.
This is a city maintenance assignment that may involve assembling, operating and maintaining city equipment, heavy equipment, power tools, and vehicles.
This position is non-exempt. Fair Labor Standards Act overtime provisions will apply.

Work Environment
Works outside in sometimes adverse environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold, and rain) for extended periods of time. Depending on assigned area, may be exposed to construction, water/wastewater, and other site hazards including, but not limited to, bright/dim lights, dust/pollen, intense noise, vibration, fumes/noxious odors, toxic/caustic chemicals, electrical shock, heights of 70 feet or more, disease/pathogens, traffic, and moving machinery.
