Job summary

The City of Plantation seeks a skilled maintenance technician to service its stormwater system, canals, and related facilities. You will perform inspections, repairs, and construction work using heavy equipment, while adhering to safety standards and city procedures.

Work includes emergency response during floods or hurricanes, maintaining records, and ensuring regulatory compliance. A high school diploma and 2+ years in similar work are expected, with on-site field duties throughout the city.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 2+ years in stormwater maintenance or related field.
• Knowledge of stormwater systems, safety standards, and heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to read plans, maps, and work orders; maintain records accurately.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, repair, and construct municipal stormwater infrastructure.
• Operate heavy equipment and monitor safety during field work and emergencies.
• Maintain records, reports, and equipment logs; respond to after-hours events.
• Assist with stormwater project installation, cleaning, and vegetation management.
• Ensure MS4/NPDES compliance and coordinate with supervisors.
