Job summary

The City of Red Oak is seeking a Stormwater Maintenance Worker to perform semi-skilled labor ensuring municipal stormwater systems are maintained and safe. This role operates a variety of equipment and performs repairs to pavements, inlets, and drainage structures while supporting public works operations.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, on-the-job training, and the ability to operate listed tools safely in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Entry level position, previous experience as a laborer or in construction is preferred but not required. On the job training will be provided.
  • Ability to safely operate tools and equipment listed above

Responsibilities

  • Represents the City of Red Oak in a professional, appropriate manner at all times.
  • Repairing concrete and/or asphalt pavement and maintenance of storm-drain inlets and flumes.
  • Inspect, maintain, clean, and repair stormwater pipes and drainage ditches.
  • Trash & debris clean-up on streets and right-of-ways; barricade maintenance; tree trimming; ice & flood control; excavating by hand tools; weed eating; mowing.
