Job summary

Woodard & Curran in Florida is seeking a detail-oriented stormwater engineer to support multi-disciplinary project teams from planning and conceptual design through final design, permitting, construction, and closeout.

Based in our Tampa office, you will work on a variety of stormwater and flood resiliency projects across Florida, collaborating with clients, PMs, technical specialists, and other engineers to deliver design plans, permits, and QA/QC.

Qualifications

• 4 to 8 years of engineering experience in stormwater and flood resiliency projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer in FL.
• Proficiency with hydrologic/hydraulic and water quality modeling software including StormWise ICPR4.
• Proficiency with GIS tools and applications.
• Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clients and team members.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations and standards.
• Knowledgeable in Florida bidding laws and SRF programs.

Responsibilities

• Site layout, grading, erosion & sediment control, and stormwater management design.
• Application of 1D and 2D hydraulic and hydrologic modeling systems to support planning and design of related infrastructure.
• Technical writing and communications with clients and regulatory authorities.
• Working with designers to develop design plans.
• Preparing local, state, and federal permit application packages.
• Preparing specifications.
• Construction administration and occasional RPR.
• Mentoring and delegating to staff-level engineers.
• Delegating and managing project tasks to staff while overseeing total project delivery.
• Executing quality assurance and quality control processes.
