Job summary

Chesterfield County Environmental Engineering is seeking an experienced supervisor to manage and supervise the operations and maintenance of county stormwater BMP facilities and related infrastructure.

You will lead two BMP crews, respond to resident concerns, and coordinate long-term capital maintenance to meet VSMP and MS4 permits. Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., on site.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or related field and five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience; VSMP basic and inspector training/certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Stormwater Operations Manager by managing and supervising the operations/maintenance of county-owned and operated stormwater BMP facilities and associated infrastructure.
• Supervise two stormwater BMP crews to complete needed maintenance and repair of county stormwater/BMP facilities.
• Respond to resident and business concerns.
• Oversee long term capital maintenance and repairs to comply with the VSMP and MS4 permits.
• Coordinate with engineering staff to certify newly constructed stormwater/BMP facilities.
• Report to the Stormwater Operations Manager for items requiring approval.
• Perform other work as required.
