Chesterfield County is seeking a qualified candidate to supervise and direct operations at a 12 MGD water filtration plant, including laboratory work and reservoir monitoring.

The role requires a Bachelor's in chemistry, biology, or engineering with five years of relevant experience and three years of supervisory leadership. A valid driver’s license is required, and compliance with safety, background checks, and drug testing is mandatory. Shift is Monday–Friday, with on-site duties in Utilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or engineering with five years of experience in water treatment operations, environmental management programs and regulatory compliance programs with three years of supervisory experience.
• Current valid driver’s license and good driving record; DMV demerit point limits apply.
• Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.

Responsabilités

• Assist the water plant manager and, in the manager's absence, assume duties to ensure the public water supply meets Safe Drinking Water Act requirements.
• Plan, supervise and direct the operations and maintenance of a 12 MGD high rate water filtration plant, laboratory, reservoir monitoring; respond to inquiries about water quality.
• Ensure proper operation of two Class I dams and an NPDES permitted sludge lagoon; perform other duties as required.
