Job summary

Loveland Public Works Administration is seeking a Lead Equipment Operator for Stormwater Maintenance to plan, prepare, and execute tasks with crew safety in mind. This role requires occasional odd hours, with on-call 24/7 rotation during emergencies and the ability to reach the Public Works Facility quickly in severe weather.

Local pay: $31.23–$43.72 per hour, with a hiring range of $31.23–$37.48, depending on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 5 years' experience operating heavy or specialized construction equipment.
• 1 year experience as a lead worker in stormwater, water/wastewater, or roadway construction, maintenance, and repair is strongly desired.
• CDL Class B license required.
• Welding and/or mechanical experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, preparation, and execution of assigned tasks and projects with attention to material, equipment, and safety.
• Collaborate with engineers and internal/external stakeholders including residents and businesses.
• Maintain, clean, and perform minor repairs on stormwater infrastructure and equipment.
• Operate heavy/specialized equipment and train others.
• Provide leadership and decision-making aligned with leadership direction.
