Charleston County Public Works Department is seeking a Stormwater Inspection Foreman to supervise a small team of inspectors, oversee field inspections, and enforce stormwater regulations to protect waterways. The role supports county safety and environmental goals, with advancement opportunities and a strong benefits package.
The position requires an Associate Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field with at least 6 years of relevant experience, knowledge of NPDES Phase II
Formación
- Leadership experience supervising inspectors
- Experience with stormwater regulations and inspections
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Ability to perform field calculations and interpret regulations
- GIS knowledge and basic chemistry is a plus
Responsabilidades
- Directly supervise 1-4 stormwater inspectors and ensure high-quality inspections
- Train team on inspection methods, regulations, and professional practices
- Conduct compliance inspections and investigations on infrastructure
- Lead enforcement actions related to stormwater violations
- Identify illicit discharges and collect samples
- Educate citizens on pollution prevention and best practices
- Document inspections with photos and records
- Support Emergency Operations when needed
