Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. is seeking a civil engineer with 5–10 years of water resources experience to support stormwater design, hydrologic analyses, and drainage projects in the Charleston area.

You will interpret data, develop deliverables, and coordinate with clients and subconsultants. The ideal candidate holds an ABET-accredited civil engineering degree, is licensed as a Professional Engineer in South Carolina or eligible to obtain licensure within six months, and is proficient

Qualifications

ABET-accredited civil engineering program required.
5–10 years of civil engineering experience with water resources focus.
Professional Engineer license in SC or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Proficiency with CAD, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software, and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of stormwater, drainage, erosion control, permitting, and design criteria.
Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

Analyze survey data, maps, and topographic data to support water resources projects.
Perform watershed delineations, drainage analysis, and hydrologic computations.
Design stormwater systems, culverts, and related water resources infrastructure.
Develop calculations, layouts, and design exhibits using modeling tools.
Prepare stormwater reports, permit exhibits, and design narratives.
Coordinate with clients, agencies, subconsultants, and internal teams.
Attend meetings, document decisions, and support project delivery.
Perform quality reviews of calculations and documents.
