Job summary

Town of Spring Lake is seeking a dependable Stormwater Maintenance Technician for full-time outdoor work in Spring Lake, NC. The role covers inspection, maintenance, construction, and repair of stormwater drainage systems to prevent flooding and protect infrastructure.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year in stormwater or related fields. A valid NC driver's license and a Class B CDL (within 12 months) are required, with on-site work and occasional after-hours

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED.

• Must be able to operate heavy equipment safely and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair stormwater drainage systems (catch basins, grates, pipes).
• Clear ditches and drainage channels to ensure proper water flow.
• Install riprap and perform erosion control and minor concrete repairs.
• Assist with installation and repair of stormwater pipes and related infrastructure.
• Respond to emergencies and after-hours issues as required.
• Follow safety procedures and document inspections and work orders.
