Job summary

The City of Greenville is seeking a capable Public Works worker to install and maintain stormwater systems and related infrastructure. You will operate a range of equipment, perform maintenance at landfills, and assist in special projects, including event setup and debris removal.

Responsibilities include handling stormwater basins, asphalt supports, and weather-related operations. You must meet licensing and safety certifications, and be prepared for outdoor work in varying conditions while

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Over one year experience in public works, utility, or construction.
• Relevant certifications within 6 months of hire (Confined Space, Trenching & Shoring, Competent Person Safety, Traffic Control).
• FEMA ICS 100, 552, 700 within three months of employment.
• Ability to operate a range of stormwater and street maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Complete stormwater repair work orders and operate a variety of light and heavy equipment.
• Assist asphalt maintenance and patching of utility cuts and potholes.
• Support inclement weather operations using salt spreaders and snow equipment.
• Ensure workplace safety and report hazards.
• Assist with special events setup, teardown, and related tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
