Job summary

The City of La Marque, TX is seeking a Stormwater Equipment Operator to operate heavy equipment for the maintenance and construction of the stormwater drainage system. Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment experience.
• Gradall ditching machine experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Texas Class B CDL preferred at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate Gradall, excavator, backhoe, skid steer, and dump truck for drainage maintenance.
• Shape ditches, place culverts, and remove sediment and debris.
• Load and transport materials with city trucks.
• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections on equipment.
• Assist in cleaning storm drains and supporting traffic control and safety.
• Assist with grading, erosion control, and right‑of‑way work.
• Follow safety regulations and keep equipment logs.
• Participate in after-hours emergency response and debris removal.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
