Job summary

The Texas Department of Transportation is seeking an Equipment Operator in La Marque to operate a broad range of heavy equipment for roadway maintenance, emergency response, and construction support while prioritizing safety and service to the traveling public.

Applicants must hold a valid Texas CDL, have at least 1 year of maintenance and/or construction equipment operation experience, and be able to work day shifts on site.

Qualifications

• 1 year of maintenance and/or construction equipment operation experience.
• Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains heavy equipment for roadway maintenance and emergency response.
• Assists with traffic control and preventive maintenance inspections.
• Supports emergency operations during severe weather events.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
