Job summary

The City of Raleigh is seeking a Stormwater Plan Review Engineer to join the Stormwater Management Division within the Engineering Services Department. You will review stormwater management designs, calculations, and permits to ensure compliance with city, state, and federal regulations related to erosion, post-construction stormwater, floodplains, and riparian buffers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
1–3 years of related experience preferred.
Engineer in Training (EIT) is a plus and preferred.

Responsibilities

Review development plans and calculations for stormwater design to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
Research sites using GIS to assess regulations and required approvals from other agencies.
Respond to inquiries from property owners, developers, and staff, providing troubleshooting and recommendations.
Attend meetings with stakeholders and provide updates on project status.
Maintain project records, standards documentation, and reports.
Operate a City vehicle to visit worksites as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
