City of Wilmington, NC is seeking a Stormwater Crew Leader to supervise and coordinate field crews performing maintenance on storm drains, channels, and retention areas. The role focuses on safety, efficiency, and quality, with opportunities to train staff and advance in a growth-oriented public works environment.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on experience with heavy equipment, CDL, and a commitment to protecting residents and infrastructure from flooding and environmental hazards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum three (3) years of related heavy equipment experience.
• Heavy machinery skills test will be a factor in hiring.

Responsabilités

• Field Supervision: assigns daily tasks, monitors work quality, and ensures safety and traffic control adherence.
• Infrastructure Maintenance: directs repair, cleaning, and upkeep of storm drains, ditches, and retention ponds.
• Equipment Operation: operates light, medium, and heavy machinery for installation of pipes, traffic control, and related tasks.
• Compliance & Tracking: maintains equipment, documents progress, and ensures environmental regulatory compliance.
• Training & Development: coaches subordinates, leads safety tailgates, and assists with hiring and evaluations.
