City of Abilene is seeking a leader to oversee a stormwater crew responsible for maintenance of MS4-related infrastructure, outfalls, and drainage systems. The position collaborates with team members to operate heavy equipment, perform inspections, and ensure compliance with stormwater programs.

The role involves supervising field crews, coordinating mowing, street sweeping, and maintenance tasks across creeks and detention ponds, and maintaining overall grounds in drainage areas.

Qualifications

• Lead, oversee, and participate in a crew engaged in equipment work under general supervision.
• Ensure MS4 permit compliance through mowing, street sweeping, and stormwater maintenance.
• Inspect outfalls and conduct visual assessments for illicit discharges.
• Oversee maintenance of stormwater lines, pumps, and detention ponds.
• Oversee creek channels and drainage structures maintenance and street sweeping.
• Manage grounds and building maintenance in creeks and drainage ways.

Responsibilities

• Perform dry and wet weather screening on all outfalls with visual assessments for illicit discharges.
• Review and maintain MS4 maintenance activities and compliance of stormwater structural controls.
• Supervise and participate in construction, maintenance, and repair of stormwater lines and pumps.
• Oversee creek channel and drainage structure maintenance, mowing, and street sweeping.
• Manage crew work on grounds and building maintenance in creeks and drainage ways.
