Job summary

Atlas seeks an Environmental Compliance Specialist (CS Project Manager 2) focusing on stormwater compliance in central Connecticut. Hybrid work, in-office ~3 days and remote ~2 days weekly.

Support clients in meeting federal, state, and local environmental rules, including SPCC plans and stormwater permitting. Ideal candidate brings 5+ years of regulatory experience, MS4 program management, and ability to coordinate field activities, reporting, and client training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental studies, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of practical experience with environmental compliance, esp. SPCC and stormwater.
• 1+ year of stormwater project management; multiple years preferred.
• CHMM or other certifications (EIT, P.E., CSP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• MS4 Program Management: lead CT DEEP MS4 permit requirements and related reporting.
• IDDE Oversight: coordinate dry-weather screening, outfall mapping, and discharges investigations.
• Regulatory Compliance: ensure adherence to CT DEEP permits, prepare documentation, support inspections.
• Develop SPCC Plans and SWPPPs for clients.
• Industrial & Commercial Support: assist facilities with SWPPPs, inspections, and permit renewals.
• GIS & Field Operations: coordinate field assessments, mapping, data management.
• BMP Development: design and track stormwater BMPs for municipalities and clients.
• Erosion & Sediment Control: prepare and review E&S plans, ensure permit compliance.
• Stormwater System Design: assist in design/review of drainage systems and LID features.
• Project Management: proposals, cost estimation, oversight, invoicing.
• Environmental Regulatory Compliance: audits, reporting, permits, and training.
