Job summary

The City of Odessa is seeking a Stormwater Program Technician to provide paraprofessional support for the city’s Stormwater Management Program. The role offers technical and administrative assistance to enforce rules and policies.

Responsibilities include conducting on-site inspections, assisting with stakeholder meetings, and preparing correspondence to regulators. The position requires strong knowledge of stormwater regulations and a valid Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AND one year of customer service or computer experience.
• Experience as an inspector, technician or surveyor in construction or maintenance of public works preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform paraprofessional services to support the Stormwater Management Program.
• Conduct on-site field inspections for code enforcement and stormwater permits.
• Assist in preparing letters and reports to regulatory agencies documenting compliance.
• Inspect City facilities to ensure compliance with stormwater laws and regulations.
• Support public participation programs and related meetings.
• Interact professionally with the public and City staff; maintain confidentiality.
