Job summary

Terraphase Engineering Inc. is seeking a Project Environmental Engineer/Scientist in Tacoma with a focus on industrial stormwater compliance.

The role involves regulatory-focused consulting for stormwater, wastewater, hazardous and solid waste, and water quality across industrial, municipal, and construction clients. You will develop compliance programs, prepare plans, perform site inspections, and lead project teams while coordinating with clients and agencies.

Qualifications

Four years of environmental compliance experience, with focus on stormwater and direct consulting support for multiple clients.
Experience in permitting, compliance audits, regulatory plan preparation, and field activities.
Knowledge of water quality and regulatory requirements in WA/OR programs.
Strong writing, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement stormwater and multimedia compliance programs including permitting, monitoring, reporting, and BMPs.
Prepare SWPCPs/SWPPPs, SPCC, Water Quality Management Plans, SOPs and related documents.
Conduct facility inspections, audits, sampling, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions.
Review regulations, permits, and guidance for WA/OR requirements.
Provide on-site support at facilities, oversee contractors and vendors.
Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables while managing priorities.
Communicate findings to clients and regulatory agencies; lead small teams and mentor staff.
