Job summary

The City of Lancaster is seeking a dependable Maintenance Worker II - Storm Water to perform heavy labor and field work supporting the maintenance and repair of streets and storm drainage systems.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year in operation and maintenance; Texas Class B CDL is preferred and must be obtained within one year; safety and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• More than one year of operation and maintenance experience.
• Texas Class B CDL preferred; must obtain within one year of employment.
• Clean driving record; driving is an essential function.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs City streets and storm water drainage systems.
• Performs work using safety precautions and PPE; operates chain saws, pole saws, and grass trimmers.
• Helps ensure continuous water flow during storms through drainage maintenance and debris removal.
• Operates pickup trucks to transport to and from job sites.
• May assist with street and alley repair, including concrete work and paving tasks.
• Performs mowing operations inside drainage easements and channels, tree trimming, and debris removal.
• Follows division activities and performs other duties as assigned.
