Job summary

The City of Lancaster is seeking a dependable Maintenance Worker II - Storm Water to perform heavy labor and field work supporting the maintenance and repair of streets and drainage systems. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliable service to protect community infrastructure.

Responsibilities include drainage maintenance, debris removal, equipment operation, and street repairs. A valid Texas Class B CDL is preferred and must be obtained within one year of employment; a clean driving

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• More than one year of experience in operation and maintenance work required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs City streets and storm water drainage systems including culverts, bridges, inlets, channels and basins.
• Uses safety precautions and PPE, and operates equipment such as chain saws, pole saws and grass trimmers during drainage work.
• Ensures continuous water flow during storms through drainage maintenance and debris removal.
• Operates pickup trucks to travel to job sites.
• May operate steel wheel rollers for street and alley repair.
• Participates in Streets and Storm Water division activities including pavement and guardrail repairs and reshaping work.
• Performs mowing operations inside drainage easements and channels, along with tree trimming and debris removal.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
