Job summary

ISA Certified Arborist is seeking an Equipment Operator in Abilene, TX to operate heavy equipment used in removing branches and tree material from electrical lines. A valid driver’s license is required; CDL is preferred. Prior experience with Barko (mower), Linebacker (mower), and Jarraff (Sky trim) is highly valued.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, maintaining gear, and assisting the Foreperson, with readiness for storm restoration duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Experience operating Barko, Linebacker and Jarraff equipment.
• High school diploma or education equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe practices and help enforce rules.
• Assist in preparing equipment and materials for each day’s work.
• Operate equipment as directed by Foreperson.
• Help maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations.
• Assist crew and leadership as required.
• Set up barriers, signs, flags to protect workers and the public.
• Track mileage for Foreperson.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
