Job summary

Anne Arundel County is seeking a Full-Time Safety Sensitive Vacuum/Rodder Operator in the Department of Public Works, Bureau of Highways. You will operate the Tandem Vacuum/Rodder Truck and related heavy equipment to remove silt and debris from storm drains and pipes.

Candidates need two+ years in maintenance and operation of public works equipment, plus a valid CDL with code N. The role requires adherence to safety rules; longevity pay is available based on years of service.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of work hazards and safety precautions.
• Knowledge of working in confined spaces and traffic regulations.
• Knowledge of operating characteristics of Vacuum/Rodder Truck and servicing needs.
• Maintenance and repair knowledge for storm drains and related infrastructure.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate Vacuum/Rodder Truck to remove silt and debris from storm drains and pipes.
• Pressure clean storm drain pipes and inspect drainage structures.
• Service, maintain and assist mechanics with general maintenance of heavy equipment.
• Plan, organize and direct preventative maintenance for storm drainage systems.
