Job summary

American Crystal Sugar Company in Crookston, MN is seeking a Store Specialist to manage storeroom operations, ensuring accurate inventory movements, including receipts, issues, cycle counts, and SAP entries.

You will work under the Storeroom Supervisor, maintain inventory levels, optimize reorder processes, operate a forklift, and support training and safety compliance, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Two-year associate's degree preferred in related fields.
  • Two years of related experience preferred.
  • Familiar with inventory management systems and procedures.
  • Experience with SAP MM is preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklift and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adequate supplies of materials are readily available to support factory operations.
  • Performs storeroom operations to ensure accuracy in inventory movements, including receipts, issues, and cycle counts.
  • Enter receipts, issues and returns into SAP in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinate with direct supervisor to identify and dispose of obsolete materials per policy.
  • Operate forklift as needed.
  • Assist in training storeroom staff.
  • Manage Storeroom Reorder reports and reviews within purchasing guidelines.
  • Maintain storeroom sanitation and security.

Job description

The Store Specialist will perform various storeroom operations to ensure accuracy in inventory movements, including receipts. They will coordinates with their direct supervisor to identify and dispose of obsolete materials in accordance with Company Policy ensuring materials are maintained in proper locations and storeroom facilities are clean and well maintained. Principle accountabilities include but are not limited to: The Storeroom Supervisor has primary responsibility for the following duties, and the Stores Specialist follows the lead of the Storeroom Supervisor:

  • Ensures adequate supplies of materials are readily available to support factory operations.
  • Performs various storeroom operations to ensure accuracy in inventory movements, including receipts, issues, and cycle counts.
  • Evaluates inventory and consumption levels to reduce overstock materials.
  • Coordinates with direct supervisor to identify and dispose of obsolete materials in accordance with Company Policy.
  • Enters receipts, issues and returns into SAP in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Enters SAP Inventory Adjustments as necessary.
  • Runs and reviews Receiving Report daily for completeness and use in receiving of items.
  • Responsible for following and administering storeroom security procedures and policies as directed.
  • Operates a forklift as needed.
  • Runs cycle count report and counts storeroom items according to cycle count schedule.
  • Assists in training new storeroom employees.
  • Runs Storeroom Reorder report and reviews for reorder within established purchasing guidelines and procedures.
  • Coordinates activities with direct supervisor.
  • Initiates maintenance work requests.
  • Tags inventory and stock shelves.
  • Performs storeroom sanitation and cleaning activities.
  • Assists with receiving process.
  • Kitting of Work Orders.
  • Processes inventory returns.
  • Coordinates outbound truck shipments.
  • Loads and unloads trucks.
  • Identifies and locates storeroom items in SAP MM System.
  • Participates in review of obsolete inventory and proper stocking levels.
  • Ensures inventory items are maintained in the appropriate manner and any preventative maintenance is performed on storeroom equipment as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and required to work overtime as necessary.
Job Requirements:

High School diploma or a GED certificate is required.

It is preferred that employee must have a two year associate’s degree in accounting, engineering, parts management, business management or related field.

It is preferred that employee have equivalent work history of two years experience in parts management, purchasing , inventory management or accounting positions will be evaluated provided the employee can successfully demonstrate competency at the end of the trial period.

Must be familiar with personal computers and understand the functionality and operation of all facets of the inventory management, purchasing , information, process industry, maintenance and physical inventory modules of ACSC business system.

Must have demonstrated knowledge of proper procedures for shipping, receiving, and issuing materials.

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel and Word software is required.

Must demonstrate knowledge of ACSC cataloging and parts numbering systems.

Must be able to identify and locate storeroom items in SAP MM System.

Demonstrated working knowledge of materials in inventory and used in the factory.

Must be able to identify alternates to parts required by maintenance.

Must understand factory chemical management program.

Demonstrated effective verbal and written communications skills, and must be able to interact with a wide range of ACSC employees and suppliers.

Must be able to become certified and safely and effectively operate a forklift and possess a valid driver’s license.

Must be able to reference, read and understand how to use MSDS information.

Compensation Range:

$25.57 - $25.57 /hr
