Job summary

The State of Tennessee is seeking a Storekeeper for the Department of Correction in Lake County, Tiptonville, TN. Under general supervision, you will handle receipt, storage, inventory, and distribution of commodities in a moderate-sized storehouse, supervising a small clerical or laboring team as needed.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years in storekeeping. A valid driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school and experience equivalent to three years of storekeeping work.
• Qualifying experience in storekeeping may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
• A valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required for employment in some positions.

Responsibilities

• Reviews pick plans and delivery documents to identify products, quantities, and locations for orders placed.
• Maintains daily activity logs on all orders pulled and backed.
• Inspects incoming equipment and products to ensure stock accuracy and documents any damage.
• Generates inventory-related reports as required.
• Operates equipment to move and transport inventory and orders throughout the warehouse.
• Performs safety checks on applicable vehicles (forklifts, delivery vehicles).
• Communicates with staff to ensure delivery processes are carried out smoothly and resolves shipping/receiving errors.
• Provides excellent customer service and collects information regarding customer complaints or delivery issues to resolve problems.
