Job summary

Northern Illinois University is seeking a Storekeeper I to receive, store, and issue foods and supplies for the campus dining operation. The role reports to Food Service Managers and handles inventory records, monthly billings, and storage maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year (12 months) of work experience comparable to Storekeeper I.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
• Ability to compute basic math including addition, subtraction, fractions, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to convey information effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Stores incoming foods and supplies.
• Maintains and prepares records of inventory and billings for monthly reports.
• Issues and returns foods and supplies for unit’s operation.
• Receives incoming foods and supplies.
• Maintains storage facilities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
