Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of requisitioning and disbursing procedures.
• Thorough knowledge of stock items, locations, and proper storage methods.
• Practical knowledge of state regulations in handling and storing perishables or foodstuffs.
• Ability to train inmates and staff in proper equipment operation and storage methods.
• Ability to maintain detailed inventory and purchasing records.
• Ability to operate forklift, hand-truck and other warehouse equipment.
• A degree is not required; experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Authorize the accuracy of all storeroom orders and goods received.
• Contact vendors regarding partial shipments or misorders.
• Maintain detailed inventory records and records of items ordered.
• Evaluate storage procedures and record-keeping as needed.
• Ensure proper storage procedures and rotation of stock for perishable items.
• Make recommendations on purchasing new warehouse equipment.
• Oversee equipment received in "knocked down" condition.
• May supervise inmates or staff in the warehouse.
