Meijer Inc. is seeking a Store Manager/Department Leader to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day store operations. You will mentor team members, drive sales, and maintain presentation standards across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) and customer service experience are helpful.
• Ability to communicate clearly to team members with direction.
• Ability to resolve conflict by addressing root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial/statistical information and make informed decisions; ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Ability to lead an organization focusing on safe work practices.
• Ability to mentor team members across roles including hourly and SDITs.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Acts as mentor and coach for all team members.
• Implements strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales while maintaining standards.
• Maintains store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours and product presentation.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes career development and succession planning; involvement in promotion decisions.
• Documents disciplinary actions and makes discharge recommendations.
• Manages department P&L and shrink; ensures customer service and sales goals are met.
• Models exceptional, fast, and friendly customer service.
• Ensures team is trained and adheres to Meijer standards.
