Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a busy Lafayette store with a customer-first focus. You will assist with supervision, merchandising, deposits, and cashiering while protecting assets and reducing losses.

You will support scheduling, training, safety, and policy compliance; ensure planograms and inventory accuracy; and step in during the Store Manager's absence to keep operations smooth and profitable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to supervisestore employees, manage deposits, and ensure cash controls.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store as needed and supervise staff under Store Manager guidance.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise, planograms, inventory, and displays.
• Maintain financial integrity through cash handling and deposits.
• Support Store Manager in their absence.
