Dollar General in Lafayette, LA seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations and lead a customer-first team. You will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, handle deposits, and ensure profitability while protecting assets.

You will assist with scheduling, training, and safety, open/close the store several days a week, and help maintain inventory accuracy and planograms under the Store Manager's direction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and cash handling skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training for employees, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise receipt, unpacking, stocking, restocking and rotating on shelves and displays.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms; ensure merchandise is presented per standards.
• Assist in cash handling to ensure financial integrity; count tills, deposits, refunds, overrides.
• Assist with management of the store in the Store Manager's absence.
