Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service and team development in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. You will assist with merchandise flows, open/close procedures, and help maintain promotional displays.

This part-time role emphasizes strong communication, safe handling of assets, scheduling, and coaching Store Associates to deliver a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail or grocery preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner.
• Transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Keep the store and stockroom neat and organized.
• Protect company assets including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and train/store associates.
• Supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
